Sometimes it takes us a few years before we find a career path that means more than just making a living and gives us true inner satisfaction. That was certainly the case for Pamela Nachtigall. She grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area but went to college in Millbrook, New York, to study fashion design. She then decided to switch her major to languages (English and French) and earned an AA degree in English literature. After college Pamela spent about one year in Lausanne and then continued her studies in English literature at San Francisco State upon her return.
Marriage took Pamela to Hawaii for about one year, and motherhood kept her busy. Pamela was quite happy to be a stay-at-home mom until a crashed economy in the early 80s (sound familiar?) made it necessary for her to enter the labor market. But what to do with a degree in English literature? Her hobby as a painter in oils and acrylics was also not promising as an income source. Then a test at Santa Rosa Junior College revealed that she had a very special aptitude for accounting! She decided on Sonoma State University, earned her BA degree in Management in 1983, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Pamela has been employed at Linkenheimer, Hebrew & Company, Henry W. Taylor, CPA and Michael Anderson & Company – all in Sonoma County – and has been on the adjunct faculties of Sonoma State University (Managerial Accounting) and Santa Rosa Junior College (Computerized Accounting).
In 2001 she went into private practice truly enjoys working with people of different personalities and helping them reach their personal and business goals. Pamela's main focus is on planning and being pro-active. By helping her clients think about their short-term and long-term goals, a lot of obstacles are cleared and pitfalls avoided. And there can be a lot of them.
On the personal side, Pamela believes you need a plan to reduce taxes, get out of debt, stay financially whole during and after divorce, changing jobs, and financing your children’s education.
On the business side, Pamela believes you need a plan to start a business, add value to your business, increase cash flow, and think about your exit strategy. Pamela offers a wide range of services. Her work as a painter has helped her see the big picture, which now benefits her clients.
In addition to serving her clients, Pamela is also looking to partner with other professionals, such as attorneys, bankers and securities brokers.
Pamela's affiliations are as follows:
- Petaluma Chamber of Commerce
- Sebastopol Chamber of Commerce
